This is called avoiding homework…after a nice bubble bath and a glass of red wine.
And here is a blurry picture of my middle sister and I.
Did I mention that I have the cutest niece in the world? She is pretty cute, I think we will keep her around.
I have been very busy with school and work for the last couple months and will continue to be until June 12, 2010. That is going to be a very exciting day! Other than getting one year closer to 30, I will be graduating with my BS from Eastern Oregon University! It has taken me a few extra years than I first planned and I took a few detours and changed my major a few times. But, it is so close now and I am very excited!
I got to head home to the East side of the state a few weeks ago to work with some old work colleagues. I miss the mountains, the snow, the stars and the quiet so much. I have to keep reminding myself that one day I will be back home…all in due time.
Yes, that is an almost completed mitten and scarf. The scarf is now complete and the mitten still has no thumb. And my homework is still in progress. I think this is something I need to work on. But my Seahawks finally won again this week (granted they played the Lions but I will take what I can get).
I started my online classes today, I will be very busy and most likely very quiet here. Well, not that that will be much of a change over the last six months. But here are a few pics of what I have been up to lately.
Heidi’s 30th Birthday Bash…with a bouncy castle!
Went to Jewel Meadow and saw some elk
Had some fun at Powells trying on some new glasses to go with my new hair cut.
This week has been a busy one. Monday was Labor Day, which Becky and I spent traveling home from a fire in Omak, WA. We were on the Milepost 281 Fire on the Colville Indian Reservation. It was a quick up and down fire camp, but it was a great time. And on the way home we got to take the Keller Ferry.
We had to leave Karrie and Laura behind for one round on the ferry:
Here is my current project on the ferry, they are called Walter’s Manly Socks:
After getting home from the fire late Monday night I got to catch up at the office from being gone. I also got to register for classes for the upcoming quarter at Eastern Oregon University. I was finally able to get on the phone with my advisor, we had been playing phone tag for about a month. And I found out some great news! I have 24 upper division credits left to graduate, all of my course work is done for my major and two minors! This means that on March 20, 2010 I will be done with my undergraduate degree! I am pretty excited about this fact, hence all the exclamation points.
So, this quarter I am taking an online class that requires me to use Blackboard. Which is all great and good, but I ran into some problems with Internet Explorer 7 and Blackboard. Mainly I couldn’t write in text boxes, which is important because that is how you turn in assignments. Long story short, I downloaded Mozilla Firefox and quickly fell in love. The main feature that I love is that there is spell check whenever you type! Which for me is HUGE! Also Ravelry and Flickr seem to work better, but I am not sure if this is just my imagination. Very well could be.
In puppy news, Hunter has decided that he no longer wants to get into his crate at night to go to sleep. This has been very upsetting because he usually just climbs right in and goes to sleep, but we have been having to bribe him as well and slightly push him to go to bed. So after much thought and deliberation the husband and I have decided that the boys (as we fondly refer to them) are old enough to sleep in the laundry room. With a child gate across the door, of course, so that they can’t get out but still get heat. Hunter is now a very happy puppy, as you can see by how he is already curled up on his new bed. But, Mac was a little confused as to where I was telling him to go to bed. He was running all over the place as if to say “Here? Do you want me here? How about here? Look I am in my crate! How about on your bed mom? WHERE AM I SUPPOSED TO GO?” (Mac is part lab and part poodle and slightly spastic)
They are both settled down nicely in their new bedroom now and hopefully sleep well.
